Miranda Jessop is relieved not to be sent packing as Richard Webb tells her all about the  services available at Pack & Send Richmond Park.

Here at Pack & Send we do exactly what it says on the door; we send anything anywhere.

We specialise in fragile, large, awkward and valuable items which can be anything from a small vase up to a 35 tonne granite Formula 1 measuring table.

People come to us because they are looking for a one stop shop to take care of absolutely everything. We pride ourselves in our expert packing and we also offer insurance and assistance with documentation if it is required.

We only use the services of reliable and trusted couriers and we manage the whole process from beginning to end for the customer so it takes away all the hassle and worry.

Our customers are extremely varied ranging from art galleries and auction houses to people sending furniture to their second homes or to their children at university.  Some of our clients even dispatch their luggage in advance before their holiday and we have a large number of visitors from America sending souvenirs back home.

My favourite part of the job is the problem solving; there’s nothing I like more than a challenge.  Recently we had an assignment where one of our regular clients wanted to forward a pair of speakers to his home in Hong Kong.  They were worth £250,000 and weighed 650 kg; engineers were even flown in from Hong Kong to dismantle them.  After much careful planning, we created special padded boxes for the equipment which were then packed in crates.  When my client rang to say they had arrived in one piece, he told me we packed as well as the Japanese which I took as a great compliment!

My job would be impossible without the expertise of my staff.  I have a team of four working here and our success is all down to their skill and diligence.  We need staff who are experienced in estimating and packing and who are able to think quickly on their feet.

Pack & Send is growing all the time.  The business originally started in Australia in the mid 90s and there are now seventeen branches in the UK.

Our branch relocated from East Sheen to Twickenham last November.  We needed a bigger premises and the move made sense because many of our regular customers are based in this area. There are so many pretty parts to Twickenham and I love the way the town rises to the occasion on rugby days.

During my lunch hour, I usually take my Schnoodle puppy for a walk along the river and into Marble Hill Park.  Basil is proving very popular with our customers and people often come into the shop especially to see him. He spends most of his time asleep under my desk.

If I was to sum up, our overall aim is to offer an efficient service that delivers items all over the world with minimum hassle and maximum safety.  We have a high level of repeat business and we are very proud of that. We work hard to keep our customers happy because we know that happy customers are always going to come back.
